Cordle has a lifelong love affair with the glorious mountains of Virginia, and the vivid characters who inhabit those hills. She escends from a long line of plucky Scottish, Irish and English settlers. However, this is just the diving board from which she wrote SILENCING SARAH. Ms. Cordle's debut novel is a thrilling hayride of a story, plucked from her own dreamscape, filled with romance, secrets and insight into the world beyond. I highly recommend this novel, from a Virginia native, who writes passionately and personally about a place she loves, where her own dreams were born." In it, M.L. Cordle seamlessly weaves an eclectic cast of characters throughout a tapestry of all-encompassing mystery. Devoid of typically predictable plot twists and faux surprise, Cordle’s narrative truly engages the reader in the unfolding of a suspenseful tale that does not have to work hard to hold the interest. Superbly crafted, Silencing Sarah is an even blend of action and exposition sure to keep the reader at rapt attention until the final page of this fast-paced thriller is turned. Highly recommended. Cordle. It was an enjoyable experience. I am looking forward to reading more of her work. Silencing Sarah could easily be called a paranormal romance, a murder mystery, or a thriller. It has love, hate, and obsession. There are so many twists and turns that you will change your mind, about who did what, around every curve. I like not being able to figure out the plot within the first few pages. It is a very entertaining book. Madison Owens finds out that it is very difficult to go home again. Especially when her sanctuary has been sold out from under her. In her attempt to get it back she encounters Will McGomery. Will purchased the land to hide from his own troubles, a wife who committed suicide and a drowned woman named Sarah. As a writer dealing with writer's block, Madison is too intrigued about Will's past to stay away. She stirs up a hornet's nest with every question she asks. But who will get stung? And will Sarah ever be silenced? Read it and see. Cordle shows the social death and emotional turmoil that is caused by choosing to support a man accused of murder instead of siding with family and friends. Blending, mixing and sporadically revealing details in small doses builds the suspense that keeps the reader anxious to see the outcome of this conflict. In Silencing Sarah M.L. Cordle mixes the right balance of the paranormal, romance and suspense that will satisfy fans of all three genres of books. M.L. Cordle has found the fine line between good storytelling and suspenseful interest that would make readers want to continue on from page one. Her prose is both unique and polished, developing her own distinctive voice as the characters come to life through the pages. And what was more amazing to me was how the pages just seem to go by: one minute I'm starting out in this wonderfully done novel, the next I'm done, wanting to read more from M.L. Cordle. If I had to pick a top ten list of 2007 books, this one would be on it! Her description, familiar in some instances with works of Nicholas Sparks and that of Danielle Steel is both remarkable and rare. If you read this, be prepared not to put it down until the very end. I just wanted to say I have read your novel Silencing Sarah and it was wonderful. I did not want to put the book down once I started reading it. It always had a good twist on things just when I thought I was figuring it out. I even loaned my copy of the book to a few ladies I work with and they loved it too! Thanks for a wonderful book! Julie M.L., I don't mind if you want to post my comments about Silencing Sarah and you can use my full name. I was in the coffee station here in Richlands one day on lunch and noticed it and bought it on the spot because it sounded so intriguing. I can't wait to read other stuff from you as well! Also the other lady that already finished it loved it as well. The book became our morning discussion... about where she was at in the book and how exciting it was. It was really hard to lay it down to do something else. I haven't enjoyed a book like I have Silencing Sarah in a long time and it made it hard for me to go to other books that aren't as exciting. I hope you have a wonderful day. The imagery and character descriptions were poetic and memorable and I felt very situated in place and time, and in the characters' physical sensations. The sex scenes were hot! The plot twists helped to make the story seem as if anything was possible! Since the story was set in the South, where people are known for gentle manners and hospitality, I thought it was going to be similar to a Nora Roberts mystery/romance novel! But no way! You are in a league all by yourself! Bravo! Sandra Brown will be proud when she reads the plot twists AND the hot Love scenes! Even though it was getting late, I could not put the book down and wanted to finish it! I'm glad that I did! I can't wait to read your next novel! Romance readers will be rewarded but left with a touch of sadness that the adventure is over when they close the final chapter for the last time. Anxiously awaiting the next one by M.L. Cordle. Cordle writes in a way that makes you "Not" want to put her book down. She grabs you very early on and continues to allow you to climb that emotional ladder of intrigue. The entire journey through her read of Silencing Sarah takes you to places that make you ask questions, that have probabilities, and evokes amazement and wonder. She turns phrases as well as Stephen King himself. I found myself almost holding my breath in places....gasping, sighing, chuckling and the ultimate, crying, but not before I felt like screaming inside, "please do not let this be over " only pages before the end.....(big sigh here right now as I remember). I can't begin to explain the feelings M.L. Cordle will awaken in you as you read Silencing Sarah. She convinces you of a world most people may never be able to comprehend that can totally exist in reality. She touches your heart and makes your soul cry out for more. Disappointment is not a word I will ever be able to associate with anything she writes. Not after tasting what she is capable of in Silencing Sarah. Fantastic job M.L. Sitting on pins and needles waiting for your next book to be available. Thank you for such a phenomenal read. Upon returning to the one place that had been her private haven for many years, however, she finds out its no longer hers but his - Will McGomery's. Not the only one trying to run from her past, Madison tries to figure out what is in Will's past that would make him hide from the rest of the world. A suicide and an even weirder drowning has Madison digging deep into Will's past, stepping on some toes while doing it. She should take Will's warning to heart and leave things alone, but she can't escape her growing attraction to the mysterious recluse, and desires to know the truth once and for all. Will she find out or will the ones that want to keep it buried along with the bodies stop her? This book is a page turner to the very end! Keeps you wondering and on the edge of your seat." I've just finished Silencing Sarah and it was so AMAZING...I was so caught up that the time just flew by and the night was almost gone. You have an incredible gift for not only telling a compelling story, but of pulling your readers in until its not just a story anymore...it becomes a part of their heart. That's what this book did for me. It isnt often I find a book that I have to keep to read again and again. In fact, only 2 other authors have that ability to keep me hooked and coming back for more. I wait impatiently for next book. But until then, I will read this one again and again and again and.................... I have finished reading Silencing Sarah,it was what I expected, and So MUCH MORE. At the beginning I was aware you wrote the book, as I got farther along into the story, I got so engrosed in the story I forgot about you. I could feel Madison's determination and why she had to get to the bottom of things. When I reached the end I sat here a few minutes and, thought about Silencing Sarah I realized your book is like a ripe peach laying on top of a pail of bitter crab apples,(translation) the one ripe peach is Silencing Sarah, the crab apples are all the book's I've read that weren't worth reading, your book defintely deserves on top of the pail.
